Lesson 24: Plotting Functions in Three
Dimensions
There are six different plot types that can be used to help you
visualize
functions
of
two variables. Some
of
these
only plot
the
given
function
within
a
region
in :J-dimensional space,
called
the
V i e w
V o l u m e ,
defined
by ranges
on
each
of
the three
coordinate
axes.
The other important i3arameter for three-dimensional plotting is the
e y e p o m i ,
the point in space from which you are viewing the View
Volume. The eyepoint determines the way that the View Volume is
projected onto the two-dimensional plotting display.
