The following timing diagram shows how the PPD instruction effects the
substate bits of a PHASE tag.

Description
The equipment phase gets the auto pause command.
The equipment phase gets the start command.
Once the equipment phase starts, it goes to the pausing substate.
Input conditions for the PPD instruction go true.
The equipment phase changes from the pausing substate to the paused substate
The equipment phase gets the resume command.
The logic goes to next step, so input conditions go false and the outputs no longer
execute.
Because auto pause is on, the equipment phase automatically goes back to the
pausing substate.
