If there is no display on the DTAM Plus, verify that the proper voltage is
present at the DTAM Plus power supply terminal block (check label on back
of unit). If no voltage is present, check the power to/from the power source.
The most common DTAM Plus problems are related to cabling
configurations and the communication parameters (baud rate, data bits,
parity). These parameters must be identical for both the DTAM Plus and the
controller. Cabling and the communications parameters are always the first
things to check.
If the communications cabling and communications parameters are correct,
perform the diagnostic tests (described in this chapter) to verify that the
DTAM Plus is functioning properly.
Refer to the following table when the DTAM Plus displays an error message.
Message Probable Cause(s) Corrective Action(s)
Checksum:failed Read Only Memory (ROM) is incorrect.
Possible defective ROM. Reset the DTAM Plus and
re-check. If problem still exists, re-download the
operating system through the programming soft-
ware. If problem still exists, send DTAM Plus for
repair.
RAM fail RAM memory failed write or read test.
Reset the DTAM Plus and re-check. If problem still
exists, send DTAM Plus for repair.
Check-sum: nnnn (CFG)
Check-sum: nnnn (DTAM Plus)
*.CFG File Invalid
Application file checksum is incorrect.
Possible bad application file. Download the applica-
tion (.CFG) file and re-check.
Watch Dog Fault
Push Key to Continue
Watch dog timer not within specs. If problem persists, send DTAM Plus for repair.
