Communication Connections and Setup
6–8
The DTAM Plus and RS-232 port of the SLC 5/03, 5/04, 5/05 must be set as
follows for communications to occur:

DTAM Plus
The DTAM Plus must have an application with AB DH485 operating system
installed. The Baud Rate and Parity of the DTAM Plus and the SLC 5/03,
5/04, 5/05 must be the same. We recommend you use 19200 baud, even
parity, and 8 data bits to match the default settings of an SLC 500
controller.
SLC 5/03, 5/04, 5/05
Make sure that the channel 0 port of the SLC controller is set for DH-485
MASTER using the following parameters.

①
To provide maximum response times, we recommend that the DTAM Plus be set as node 0 and the
SLC 500 channel 0 as node 1. Maximum node address should be 1. The connections are a
completely separate DH-485 network, you do not need to be concerned about duplicate node
addresses from another network.
②
SLC 5/03, 5/04, 5/05 (channel 0) only support EVEN parity.
