5. Place the drive tube speed control lever in the straight
up position.
6. Place the strike tube speed and directional control lever
in the neutral (center) position.
startIng (gas mode)
1. Insert ignition key into ignition switch (Figure 42) and
turn key to the on position.

2. Verify that the oil pressure and charge lamps
(Figure 43) are on.

3. Press the gas/Lp gas rocker switch downward
(Figure 44) on the control box to select the GAS mode,
RED light is OFF.

4. Press the throttLe rocker switch downward and
verify that the engine speed is set to idle mode,
green light is OFF (Figure 45).

5. If starting a cold engine or if the temperature is cold,
press the ChoKe button (Figure 46) and hold down
while cranking the engine.

6. Continue turning ignition key to the start position.
7. Listen for engine to start and release key.
8. Let engine idle for 2 to 3 minutes. Listen for any
abnormal sounds.
9. Verify that the oil pressure and charge lamps
(Figure 43) are off.
