11. Options
■ Air line to platform
The input to the air line is on the lower rear of the
turntable. The outlet is on the platform mounting
frame. The maximum safe working pressure for
the air line is 250 psi (1725 kPa).
Water or antifreeze solution in the air line
might damage some air tools. If you use the
air line to conduct water or antifreeze solution
be sure to drain and blow out the air line
before attaching air tools.
The air line can be used to conduct air, water, or
antifreeze solution. If you want to conduct other
liquids, contact your Snorkel dealer for
compatibility information
To drain the air line:
1. Close the turntable end of the air line.
2. Open the platform end of the air line.
3. Raise the base boom slightly above
horizontal.
4. Open the turntable end of the air line.
■ BumpGard System
The BumpGard system is a spring mounted,
padded railing (1) below the platform.
There are two infrared lights mounted along the
bottom of the platform next to two infrared
sensitive switches.
The lights shine on reflectors on the BumpGard
and are reflected back to the switches.
If the BumpGard comes into contact with a
stationary object, the BumpGard moves and one
or both of the light beams is broken. A dark
switch removes control from the platform control
box, immediately stopping all platform movement.
To override the BumpGard infrared switch, in
order to move away from the stationary object,
do the following:
1. Hold the Proximity Switch override switch
(2) in the up position.
2. Use the controls on the platform control box
to move the platform away from the
stationary object.
3. Return the switch (2) to normal operation
once you have moved the platform away from
the stationary object.
■ Flashing Lights
The flashing lights alert people that the AB46J is
present.
The lights flash at about one flash per second
anytime the Battery switch, Master Key Switch,
and the Emergency Stop switch, at the ground,
are all on.
There is no ON/OFF switch for the flashing lights.
