10. Stowing and Transporting
■ Stowing
At the end of each work day (or in preparation for
lifting or storage) a qualified operator should put
the AB46J into its STOWED POSITION then lock
it.
The correct STOWED POSITION is shown here.
To bring the AB46J into the STOWED POSITION
use the controls on the ground control box or
platform control box to:
1. Fully retract the booms.
2. Fully lower the booms.
3. Center the base boom between the rear
wheels.
❑
To Lock the AB46J
1. Set the Master Key Switch to OFF then
remove the key.
2. Set the Battery switch to OFF and lock the
Battery switch.
3. Close and lock all other doors.
■ Transporting
The user assumes all responsibility for choosing
the proper method of transportation, and the
proper selection and use of transportation and
tie-down devices, making sure the equipment
used is capable of supporting the weight of the
aerial platform and that all manufacturer’s
instructions and warnings, regulations and safety
rules of their employer, the DOT and/or any other
state or federal law are followed.
❑
Trailering
An AB46J weighs approximately 15,900 pounds
(7212 kg). Loading ramps and transport trailers
must be able to support and safely transport that
weight. Forklifts must be able to safely lift that
weight.
DO NOT load an AB46J on grades over 25%;
or with the turntable rotated with respect to the
chassis; or on ramps with poor traction,
uneven surfaces, or steps.
Lifting with forklift:
A forklift may be used to lift the AB46J onto a
transport trailer. Insert the forklift fingers into the
forklift tubes on the AB46J shown above.
