Cautions on Updating the Application Program of the Navigation System:
• Stop the vehicle in a safe location. While the program update is in progress,
ensure that the power supply of the Navigation System is not turned off.
• When the update procedure is complete, the Navigation System will be restarted.
After the system has started up again, make sure not to turn off the power supply
for the Navigation System until the map of your surroundings appears.
• During the update process, there is the possible risk of the “Address Book” (*)
data and the “Destination History” data being lost. It is highly recommended to use
a PC Card (PCMCIA TYPE II <5 V>) to back up Address Book data. (Since the
“Destination History” cannot be stored on a PC Card directly, to keep the
“Destination History” data, first store it in the Address Book, then onto the PC
Card.)
* “Address Book” data includes “Return Home” and “Go to” contents.
• Any existing calculated routes will be cancelled.
• Personalised settings will return to their factory settings.
