DEVICE MANAGER
Target host
The host name or the IP address of the target host. To see the description of the host, fill
in host name or IP address and click Confirm. To connect to the host, click OK.
Note - If "v3" is the selected SNMP version and the specified user account has no READ
VIEW access to the System Description OID but has READ VIEW access to the System
Object ID, clicking on the confirm button will display the message, "Unable to retrieve
system description."
SNMP Options
Version
This drop down list allows you to select the SNMP version to use in managing the
target device.
Note - Before choosing "v2c" or "v3", make sure that the target device you are
connecting to supports SNMP v2c and/or SNMP v3 respectively.
Settings
If the Version is set to "v1" or "v2c", this button opens the SNMP v1/v2c Settings
window. Otherwise, if the Version is set to "v3", this button opens the SNMP v3
Settings window.

Community name
The community strings to use in performing SNMP operations on the target host.
There are three types of community strings for the SNMP. Be sure to specify
strings which match the ones configured on the target host.
By default, the following strings are used.
for the Get operation

for the Set operation
private
