2.3.3 M4/M16A4 MWS Using Insight Rail Grabber Bracket.
The AN/PEQ-2A may be mounted to the top, right, or left
rails of the MWS using the Insight Rail Grabber Bracket.
WARNING ..
Be sure the weapon is CLEAR and SAFE before
proceeding.
NOTE
The AN/PEQ-2A may be placed at any position
(forward and aft) on the rail that is most
convenient for the operator. If, however, the
AN/PEQ-2A is removed from the rail, the operator
must make note of the position at which it was
zeroed, and return it to that same position in order
to ensure that zero is retained.
NOTE
Failure to fully tighten the Rail Grabber Bracket
and AN/PEQ-2A thumbscrew may cause zero
retention problems.
a. Loosen the clamping knob on the Rail Grabber
Bracket until the jaws have sufficient space to fit
over the MWS rail.
b. Position the Rail Grabber Bracket on the rail
ensuring that the recoil lug is seated in the recoil
groove of the rail. Turn the clamping knob clockwise
to tighten. Use a screwdriver or similar tool in the
slot of the clamping knob to fully secure the bracket
to the rail.
