NOTE
It may be desirable to provide one addi tional
liter of flow if you use the lockout feature.
1 Plug in the unit.
2 Set the unit’s ON/OFF switch to the ON position, and allow
the unit to run at least three minutes to build up pressure.
3 If used, connect the humidifier bottle, oxygen tubing, and
cannula to the oxygen outlet.
4 Remove the right side panel.
5 Turn the flowmeter adjustment knob counterclockwise un til
it stops (wide open).
6 Pull outward on the regulator knob to unlock it.
NOTE
When this lockout feature is no longer
required, follow the normal regulator
setting proce dure, as described in
Section 5.8.1.
7 Turn the regulator knob counterclockwise to decrease the
setting until the flowmeter registers the maximum flow
desired.
8 Push in the regulator knob to lock the setting.
9 Reconnect the side panel.
5.8.3 Back Pressure Correction at 5 LPM
In some cases, additional lengths of oxygen tubing with a humidi fier
bottle can increase back pressure and limit oxygen flow below 5 lpm.
To achieve 5 lpm, use the following procedure:
