of four secondary systems with up to eight paths to each
system.

Make sure that all primary and secondary system ports are
properly configured: ordinary RCU target ports for
secondary systems initiator ports for primary systems. If
necessary, connect to the secondary system to delete paths.
Reconfigure the ports, then reconnect to the primary system
and add the path/secondary system again using Edit Path
or Add RCU.

The primary system’s S/N
does not match the specified
S/N.

Serial Number
Mismatch

Make sure that you entered the correct primary system S/N,
SSID, and path parameters (port, link address, logical
address).

Delete the failed path. You may need to change the
minimum paths setting or delete the secondary system in
order to delete the path. Then add the path/secondary
systems using Edit Path or Add RCU.

Fibre: Make sure that you entered the correct Controller ID,
and that the Fibre Channel topology settings on the primary
and secondary systems ports are correct.

The specified port is not
configured as an initiator port
or this path already exists.

Invalid Port Mode

Make sure the correct primary system port is configured as
an initiator port and the correct secondary system port is
configured as an RCU target port.

Make sure that you entered the correct secondary system
S/N, SSID, and path parameters (port, link address, logical
address).

Delete the failed path. You may need to change the
minimum paths setting or delete the secondary system in
order to delete the path. Then add the path/secondary
system using Edit Path or Add RCU.

Delete the failed path. Check the port number or the cable
connection and retry.

The specified port number is
invalid. The cable is not

connected to the specified
port.

Install the microcode that supports the fibre remote copy
function on the remote system.

The microcode on the remote
system does not support the
fibre remote copy function.

Fibre remote copy is
not supported.

Delete the failed path and retry.

A timeout error has occurred
between the primary and
secondary systems.

Communication error

The specified port in the
secondary system is

physically disconnected from
the primary system.

Make sure that the primary and secondary systems are
physically connected.

Make sure that the Fibre Channel topology settings of the
primary and secondary systems ports are correct.

Make sure that the secondary system port is configured as an
RCU target port. See

Make sure that the secondary system port and data path
hardware (cables and switches) are properly configured and
functioning.
