3.
After you have disabled LDEV data collection and/or disconnected Performance Monitor
wherever possible, then connect to the storage system using Remote Web Console and launch
Continuous Access Synchronous.
4.
When Continuous Access Synchronous operations are completed, exit Continuous Access
Synchronous and Remote Web Console.
5.
Re-enable Performance Monitor data collection.
For further information on Performance Monitor, see the HP P9000 Performance for Open and
Mainframe Systems User Guide.
Auto LUN
Continuous Access Synchronous volumes in certain pair statuses may be used as Auto LUN volumes,
as described in the following table.

Restrictions
The restrictions below must be followed when a Continuous Access Synchronous volume in PAIR
status is used as an Auto LUN volume.
•
Set I/O rates less than 50 IOPS while migrating volumes. If more than 50 IOPS, volumes may
not be migrated.
•
If a data path failure occurs, remove the failure then migrate the volume.
•
If an external volume or a V-VOL is used, information from before the volume is migrated is
displayed on the secondary system Remote Web Console window. If the Auto LUN is completed
and the Continuous Access Synchronous pair is split and resynchronized, the volume’s
information is updated.
•
Do not migrate P-VOL and S-VOL at the same time, otherwise a host I/O timeout occurs.
•
Do not change the status of a volume during migration, the status may not change.
Data Retention
You can create a Continuous Access Synchronous pair using volumes that have been assigned the
access attribute by the Data Retention (DRU). However, you cannot specify a volume with the
"S-VOL Disable" attribute as a Continuous Access Synchronous S-VOL.
The following table indicates whether the access attribute can be changed or referenced for the
Continuous Access Synchronous volume and status.
