For CMS #2 , create two MAC and two WWN exclusion ranges for other VCEM-Defined addresses
in use:

MAC1_Exclusion_Range is equal to 00-21-54-9B-00-00 to 00-21-54-9B-AA-AA

MAC2_Exclusion_Range is equal to 00-21-54-9C-55-54 to 00-21-54-9C-FF-FF

Exclusion_range_WWN_1 is equal to 50:01:43:80:02:A3:00:00 to
50:01:43:80:02:A3:AA:A9

Exclusion_range_WWN_2 is equal to 50:01:43:80:02:A4:55:54 to 50:01:43:80:02:A4:FF:FF

For CMS #3, create one MAC and one WWN exclusion range for other VCEM-Defined addresses
in use:

MAC_Exclusion_Range is equal to 00-21-54-9B-00-00 to 00-21-54-9C-55-53

WWN_Exclusion_Range is equal to 50:01:43:80:02:A3:00:00 to 50:01:43:80:02:A4:55:53

Transferring managed VC domains from one VCEM instance to another

To transfer a managed VC Domain from one VCEM instance to another VCEM instance, use the
procedure in the following example where VC Domain A managed by VCEM at CMS#1 is
transferred to the VCEM instance at CMS#2:

1.

At CMS#1, remove VC Domain A from the VCEM Virtual Connect Domain Group.

2.

Deactivate (turn off) CMS#1 — this ensures only one VCEM instance will be using the same
range of addresses.

3.

At CMS#2, go to the MAC address management page and remove the MAC exclusion range
identifying CMS#1 from the VCEM-Defined range (MAC1_Exclusion_Range).

4.

At CMS#2, go to the WWN management page and remove the WWN exclusion range
identifying CMS#1 from the VCEM-Defined range (WWN1_Exclusion_Range).

5.

At CMS#2, import VC Domain A into the VCEM Virtual Connect Domain Group.

Consolidating multiple VCEM instances into a single VCEM instance

To consolidate multiple VCEM instances into a single VCEM instance, use the procedure in the
following example where a multi-CMS (or Federated HP IO) environment with 3 CMSs (CMS#1,
#2, and #3) running 3 VCEM instances (VC Domain A, B, and C), is consolidated into a single
VCEM instance running on CMS#2.

6.

At CMS#3, remove VC Domain C from the VCEM Virtual Connect Domain Group.

7.

Deactivate (turn off) CMS#3 — this ensures only one VCEM instance will be using the same
range of addresses.

8.

At CMS#2, go to the MAC address management page and remove the MAC exclusion range
identifying CMS#3 from the VCEM-Defined range (MAC2_Exclusion_Range).
