CLEAN TAPE HEADS
To maintain optimum performance and to prevent READ/WRITE errors, clean the tape heads of the 5242 and 5242-
ACL tape drive on a regular basis. Use the cleaning schedule noted in Table 1.
5242 and 5242-ACL Tape Path Cleaning
The Clean/Attention LED is located on the front panel of the tape drive. When it flashes amber, the tape
heads are dirty and need to be cleaned.
