NOTE: If the underlying HP 3PAR volume used by the Datastore belongs to an HP 3PAR Remote
Copy volume group, stop the Remote Copy volume group prior to running the Datastore promote
operation.
To restore a Datastore by promoting a Virtual Copy:
1.
Follow the instructions in “Viewing Virtual Copy Information” (page 68) . Make sure that you
are in the Datastores view as you can only promote Datastores.
2. Click the Virtual Copies tab.
3. Select the Virtual Copy that you wish to promote from the Virtual Copy Set list.
4. Click Promote.
The Confirm dialog box appears.
5. Click OK.
The Virtual Copy promote task is submitted and a message is displayed indicating that request
is being processed.
