Overview

Brother print servers support the AppleTalk

®

protocol running over

Ethernet (also known as EtherTalk

®

). This allows Macintosh

®

users

to print at the same time as all other Ethernet network using the
AppleTalk

®

(also referred to as EtherTalk

®

) protocol.

NC-7100w Brother wireless print server supports Mac OS

®

X 10.1 to

10.3. You can use the TCP/IP printing capability for any Mac OS

®

X

version. This allows Macintosh

®

users to send print jobs using the

TCP/IP protocol.

With the release of Mac OS

®

X 10.2, Apple

®

introduced Simple

Network Configuration capabilities. These Simple Network
Configuration capabilities support automatic network configuration. If
you choose to use the the Simple Network Configuration capabilities
features of your Brother product, you usually do not need to
configure any IP address settings yourself.
