Joystick Control of Boom Movement:
Subject:
Lack of proportional control of the Boom Movement may develope due to the joy stick controls.
Service Required:
1.
Operated Boom controls for the lift, dipper and swing function. The Cylinder speeds should be
able to be controlled from very slow to fast without jerking or sudden stop.
2.
If lift, dipper and swing function operates smoothly and speeds can be controlled, No service
will be required joystick is working correctly.
3.
If lift, dipper or swing function do not operate smoothly, it will be necessary to replace the joystick
control box. Alamo Industrial through testing has found some joysticks were not properly
adjusted from the factory. The returned joysticks have been readjusted, rebuilt and tested. The
rebuilt joystick will be used in this repair.
4.
Make certain the ignition switch is in the "OFF" position. Remove the wiring harness from the
bottom of the control box by unscrewing the connector. Remove the mounting bolts from the
bottom of the control box and remove the box.
5.
Install the replacement control box (Joystick) in the reverse order and test operate unit.
