Advanced Operation
Using Special Settings
1. Place your document(s) with text FACE UP in the ADF or FACE DOWN on
the glass.
2. Press the Fax button on the control panel to prompt the Fax main screen.
3. Enter the fax number with the numeric keypad on the control panel.
– Or you may press the number to select your fax number or group from
the One-Touch list.
– Or you may press the Speed Dial button to bring up the preset
telephone book and then select it from the list.
4. Check if the quality, paper size, or brightness meets your requirement by
pressing the Quality, Size, or Brightness button. If not, press the specified
button continually until your desired setting appears. (For more information
about the settings, refer to the setting descriptions below.)
5. Press the Start button to send your document.
Setting Descriptions
Item Description
Quality Choice: *STD (Standard), Fine, S-Fine, Photo
Standard (200 x 100 dpi): Suitable for most typed originals.
Fine (200 x 200 dpi): Good for small print.
Super Fine (200 x 400 dpi): Good for small print or artwork
and transmits slower than Fine resolution.
Photo (200 x 400 dpi): Use when the original has varying
shades of gray.
Brightness If your original document is too light or too dark, you can use
this option to adjust the density level.
Choice: *Normal, Dark, Light
Size Choose your original paper size.
Choice: *A4, B4, A3, Letter
* Factory Default
Normal STD.
