10 Presence Information
The presence information feature allows you to specify an absence reason.
Callers will then be informed of your whereabouts. The absence reason is
displayed to the exchange operator. For some of the absence reasons, you are
prompted to specify the return time.
Note: As a reminder, you will hear a special dial tone when you lift the
handset when you have enabled absence. A text message is also
visible in the display.
You can make calls as usual although you have enabled absence.
10.1 Call Forwarding on Mini-Message
An alternative to all other available variable call forwarding services (referred
to above), you may also redirect your extension to a mini-messaging or call
forward on absence service.
Mini-Messages are predefined messages, they are usable for your incoming
calls in all cases to inform the callers. This does not consist of a call forward in
its truest sense: your incoming calls are not redirected. Rather, the absence
message that you selected when defining the call forward will be automatically
transmitted to all internal and external parties who are trying to reach you, in
the form of an ISDN mini-message, as long as that party’s phone is compatible
with the service. His or her call will be disconnected once the message has
been displayed. External callers who do not have a phone compatible with
the service, will be routed to the operator who has access to your absent
information.
By default, the messages available for each circumstance are the following
messages, identified by the corresponding number :
