Specifying a Destination

Note
❒ When you enter a destination via a
gateway (G3 fax connected to the
public telephone line, etc.) into the
Address Book or Destination List,
you must specify its terminal tele-
phone number. To send from an
IP-Fax to G3 fax without using
gatekeeper or SIP server, you must
register the gateway also. See p.150
“IP-Fax Settings”, Facsimile Refer-
ence
❒ When you specify a destination
with IP-Fax, depending on the re-
ceiver’s network configuration,
you may need to specify the IP ad-
dress and number of the receiving
machine. For example, if the re-
ceiver’s IP address is “192.168.1.10”
and the port number is “2100”,
specify “192.168.1.10:2100”. Ask
the network administrator for de-
tails.
❒ When you specify a host name, de-
pending on the receiver’s network
configuration, you may need to
specify the host name and port
number of the receiving machine.
For example, if the receiver’s host
name is “tokyo.abc.co.jp”and the
port number is “2100”, specify “to-
kyo.abc.co.jp:2100”. Ask the net-
work administrator for details.
❒ An alias telephone number is a
telephone number available in the
network registered in the gate-
keeper.
❒ An ID number identifies the gate-
way registered in this machine.
❒ Pay attention to the number of tele-
phone number digits set in the
gateway/IP-address conversion
table to avoid transmission error.
