Plot Rate
As well as character printing, the P9012 printer is capable of dot-addressable graphic plotting.
Based on the protocol selected, either P-Series Plot Mode or Serial Matrix Bit Image GraphĆ
ics is used; the plot rate specifications apply to both P-Series and Serial Matrix types of graphĆ
ic plotting. The plot rate (in inches per minute, ipm," bidirectional) is described in Table 1-2
according to the dot density (in dots per inch, dpi). Complete plotting specifications are proĆ
vided in the Appendix.

NOTE: Unidirectional plotting produces better print quality than bi-directional, and
can be selected from the control panel; however, unidirectional plot reduces the plot rate
to half.
