Weekly maintenance
procedures

Maintenance procedures which should be performed weekly include:
vacuuming inside the Scanner, cleaning the feed and separator rollers,
and cleaning the cabinet.

Vacuuming inside the
Scanner

The sensors located under the baffle plate in the feeder/horizontal
transport area and in the upper section of the lower roller housing
assembly, the mirrors, the lamp housings, and the air filter should be
vacuumed or wiped down thoroughly with a clean, dry, soft, lint-free
cloth at least once a week.

Refer to the instructions and illustrations provided in the
Troubleshooting section to assist in accessing the sensor locations.
The following illustrations show the location of the sensors once the
correct area has been accessed.

Feeder/horizontal transport
area

The sensors in the feeder/horizontal transport area are located under
the Document Scanning Array, behind the feed/separator rollers, near
the reflector strips:

using the release handles, as shown.

NOTE: If a DSA is not installed, raise the baffle plate.

3.

Vacuum the area underneath the Document Scanning Array or
baffle plate.

4.

Lower the Document Scanning Array or baffle plate back into place.

5.

Close the front cover.
