A Sensor is Defective

Indoor (heat exchanger) coil temp. Sensor is defective.
(a) Open (=No continuity in sensor)
Compressor and outdoor fan repeat ON for 10 minutes and OFF for 6
minutes when sensor opens.
(b) Short
“Freeze Prevention” does not operate when dehumidified water is frozen on the
indoor coil.

Neither outdoor fan nor compressor runs.
(b) Short
Outdoor fan and compressor do not stop. — Excessive cooling.
