Align the new processor with the processor slot. Note that the processor
slot is keyed so the processor can only be installed one way. Press it firmly
to install it.

Connect the processor fan cable to the second processor fan connector
on the system board (See “System board” on page 8 for location).

Close the case. (See “Closing the case” on page 27.)

Reconnect the power cord and all other cords you removed, then turn
on the system.
Important
Gateway recommends that you run a processor retest from
the BIOS Setup utility whenever you replace or add a
processor.
