8 CONFIGURATION SOFTWARE
When the matrix is purchased, the software for the configuration of the matrix itself is supplied. This makes
it possible to configure all the matrix parameters via the PC and transmit them to the matrix via the serial
port. The software provided can be run in the Windows environment.
8.1 Terminology
The terminology used with reference to the various checks that make up the program menus is shown
below.
8.2 Installation and activation
8.2.1 Requirements
The Personal Computer must have a free serial port to which the cable (supplied) can be connected for
the matrix-PC data exchange.
The program has been tested to function on Windows 98, 2000 and XP. If small problems occur (e.g. texts
not in their proper position, icons are too big or small that interfere with the correct appearance of the
menu screens, errors when dates and times are input) the systems should be set as follows:
• Number of screen colours (to be modified in the Windows menu Screen properties, Settings, colour
palette): minimum 256;
• Font size (Screen properties, settings, font size): normal 100%.
8.2.2 Installation procedure
Insert the configuration disk and run the SETUP.EXE program:
