E.1 Introduction
This appendix describes the procedure required to upgrade any CRS‐311 1:1 Redundancy Switch from traditional serial terrestrial interface
operation to operation in tandem with SLM‐5650/5650A Redundant and Traffic Modems that are equipped with the optional Network
Processor (NP) Interface Module that is required to handle 4‐Port Ethernet data traffic.
