Host SCSI Channel Problems
Host system does not see the controller.
Verify in the Ctrl-E status screen that there is Host Channel negotiation. Verify that the host
channel target ID and array LUN numbers are configured correctly and not over-lapping.
Host SCSI BIOS scan hangs.
Check that termination is set correctly at the system and the drive enclosure. Check that the
device ID set in the Administrator Utility does not conflict with any other devices on the host
SCSI channel.
Only one array is displayed during host SCSI BIOS scan.
Check that LUN support is enabled. Most SCSI host adapters ship with LUN support disabled
(factory default). Use Display Array Status to check the LUN for each array. If LUN 0 is not
assigned to an array (or some of the LUN numbers were skipped), use the Change LUN
Assignment option for each array until the LUN starts with 0 with no LUNs skipped.
All arrays are displayed during host SCSI BIOS scan, but only one array is
seen by the O/S.
SCSI drivers for some operating systems require a parameter switch to enable LUN support.
Check the driver documentation for the host SCSI channel.
Device SCSI Channel Problems
Not all drives connected to the device channels are displayed during boot, or
the RAID Controller Module hangs during display of connected drives and
never reaches the Administrator Utility screen.
Check the InfoStation to make sure it is properly configured for use with the RAID Controller
Module . Check termination and ID assignment. Or, try reducing the maximum drive channel
speed. If there are drives that are not Ultra160 capable, try setting the bus speed to
80MB/sec.
