Hardware Information

This command displays an information window that contains hardware information on the

controller (this information is used by engineers for diagnostic purposes). Press Ctrl-E to view

full details.

LUN Information

This command allows the user to display an information window, providing all of the LUN

settings for the controller. The bridge LUN is the LUN used by CAPI. The SEP LUN is shown

as either a number or DISA.

LUN information is displayed in three columns:

Column 1 lists the LUN.

Column 2 is the SAVED value in flash for non-array LUNs.

Column 3 is called the CURRENT or CURR value and lists LUN values that have been

changed, but not saved in the flash (the controller has not been rebooted yet). The

SAVE and CURR values will be identical after the controller has been rebooted.

Managing Controller LUNs

NOTE:

Some UNIX and Macintosh systems require that all array LUNs be numbered lower

than the bridge LUN. For these systems, array LUNs with values higher than the

bridge LUN will not be seen.

The DXIFS-160/RAID supports up to 32 SCSI LUNs (0-31). There are three different types of

controller LUNs:

Bridge LUN -

allows a host Configuration Application Program Interface (CAPI) application

to configure the controller over a host channel via SCSI protocol extensions.

There is only one bridge LUN and it may be set to a value of 0-31 or NONE.

If set to NONE, the bridge LUN is disabled.

SEP LUN -

allows access to SAF-TE Environmental Processors (SEPs). A SEP LUN

can be set to a value of 0-31 or NONE. If set to NONE, the SEPs cannot

be accessed via a LUN.

Array LUN -

allows access to arrays on the controller. Array LUNs (a total of 24 max-

imum can be set) can be set to a value of 0-31.
