Deleting a Dedicated Spare Drive
To delete a spare drive:
1.
Select Delete Spare from the Array Menu.
2.
Select the spare drive to be deleted and then press Enter. A message will appear
to confirm the deletion of the spare drive.
NOTE:
It is not necessary to reinitialize the array when a spare drive is deleted.
Change LUN
This command allows the user to change the LUN assigned to this array, as it appears under
the controller's target ID from the host system's point of view. It prompts for a different LUN
that is not in use. Depending on the O/S, a reboot of the host system may be required.
NOTE:
The array's LUN cannot be changed to one that is already in use. The LUN in use
must first be reassigned before it can be reused.
Refer to sections "LUN Information" and "Managing Controller LUNs" for further
information.
Change Array Name
This command allows the user to change the name of the array. This does not have an effect
on the target ID or LUN values of the array. The controller will not allow the changing of an
array name when a utility is running. The maximum name length is 31 characters.
Trust Array
WARNING:
This command can cause unstable operation and data loss if used impro-
perly! It is intended for disaster recovery only!
This command allows the user to remove "bad drive" metadata from the critical array so that
it becomes fault-tolerant again. All the array's original drives must be present in order for this
command to work. The command must be enabled in the Options Configuration menu before
it can be used (the default setting is disabled).
This command can also be used to bring an uninitialized array online without the initialization
process and to bring a RAID 0 array online as well.
