The Stitching skills covered m this sectton require
some special skill from you. For al! other
stitches, your machine does most of the work.
Even if you are skilled at these stitches, you will
want to learn the features of this machine that
may be new to you.
Use the Seam Guides
The seam guides on the needle plate are there to
help you measure seam width. The lines are 1/8"
apart, with the 5/8" and 7/8" lines marked.
Turn a Square Corner
1.
Stop stitching and lower the needle by pressing the Up/Down Needle
Position button when the fabric edge facing you lines up with the
cornering guide, as shown.
2.
Raise the presser foot and turn the fabric to line the edge with the 5/8"
seam guide.
3.
Lower the presser toot and begin stitching in the new direction.
