C-LOCK
C-LOCK synchronizes the pulse oximeter’s systole determination to the R-wave
to reduce the effects artifact may have on SpO
2
measurements. The default setting
for C-LOCK is OFF, but under some conditions you may find more stable SpO
2
readings with C-LOCK set to ON.
Alarm Hold-off
Transient drops in saturation due to motion artifact can cause SpO
2
false alarms.
To eliminate many false alarms, the Propaq Encore uses a built-in delay of 10
seconds before triggering an SpO
2
alarm. If the sensor reports that SpO
2
levels
have returned within limits before 10 seconds elapse, the alarm is reset.

Patient Alarms: Definitions and Indications
Vital signs that violate any limits result in both audible and visual alarm
indications, Propaq Encore software version 1.20 makes significant changes in the
visual alarm indicators — two colored lights above the display screen.
A continuous red light previously indicated a patient alarm and a flashing red
light indicated a patient alarm but the alarm had been suspended. Now the
flashing red light means a patient alarm and the continuous red light means the
alarm limits have been suspended (a patient alarm may or may not be occurring).
A continuous yellow light means one or more alarm limits have been turned off. A
flashing yellow light indicates an equipment alert. These alarm indications are
shown in Table 1.
