Temperature Measurement Range Indicators
Temperatures which are outside of the measurement range of the Monitor will cause the following
to be displayed. Note the symbol shown in the tenths position of the display.
Alarm Indications and Interpretation
Patient alarms will be activated when the patient's systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, pulse rate
or SpO
2
% exceed the alarm limits programmed by the operator. Patient alarm conditions are visu-
ally indicated by flashing LED displays for the parameter in question, accompanied by a repetitive
audible alarm tone.
The Welch Allyn Vital Signs Monitor handles patient alarms in the following manner:
NOTE:
Pulse rate measurements from the SpO
2
determination override pulse rate
measurements from the blood pressure determination.
During Blood Pressure Measurement
Should a blood pressure or pulse rate patient alarm condition occur, no additional measurements
may be initiated until the alarm is reset. Check the patient condition first, and then reset the patient
alarm by pressing the SILENCE button. Measurements may now be resumed.
During SpO
2
Measurement
Should a patient alarm condition for SpO
2
or pulse rate occur, the Monitor will indicate an alarm con-
dition (flashing & beeping) while continuing to monitor and display the patient's current SpO
2
%.
The alarm will automatically reset when the patient's condition returns to within the preset alarm
parameters.
During SpO
