Troubleshooting

To Install a Replacement Battery

1. Turn off power to the HP NetServer, and unplug it.

2. Remove the ^ont bezel and top cover.

3. Remove the old battery, which is shown in Figure 6-2.

4. Insert the new battery with the positive sign (+) facing out, and ensure that

it is seated completely. Make sure that the retaining clip is in place, and
holds the battery ^-mly.

5. Replace the top cover and the ^ont bezel, and reconnect the power cord.

To Install an Auxiliary Battery

Instead of replacing the battery, you can install an auxiliary battery.

1. Turn off power to the HP NetServer, and unplug it.

2. Remove the ^ont bezel and top cover.

3. Firmly plug the leads of the auxiliary battery into the external battery

connector on the system board, shown in Figure 6-3.
