Installation Overview

Install Accessory Boards

Install all accessory boards at this time. The backplane in the HP NetServer has
live PCI-only slots (Slots 2-6) and one combined PCI/ISA slot (Slot 1).

Boards can be identilied by the shape of their connectors, as shown in Figure 1-5.

For a list ofboards HP has tested, view the Tested Products List located in the
following:

• HP Order Assistant on the HP Web Site at

For tips on con^guring accessory boards, refer to the following:

• The Readme ^le on the Navigator CD-ROM

Con^guration advisories in Con^guration Advisor. To read them, do the
following:

a. From the HP Navigator Main Menu, select Configuration Assistant

and Installation Advisor.

b. From the Con^guration Assistant menu, select Custom.

c. Select the NOS (network operating system) you plan to install later, and

the version, if necessary.

d. To the question, "Would you like to use HP's automated mode ofNOS

installation?" select No.
