HP Navigator
• For Manual NOS Installation Only: Before you perform a manual NOS
installation, you must print out instructions and manually create NOS-
speci^c drivers diskettes, as follows:
0 Create Drivers Diskette(s): On the Create Drivers Diskette(s) screen,
select Create Drivers Diskette(s) to create one or more customized
diskettes containing HP drivers and con^guration ^les to use when you
install the NOS.
0 Print and Read Instructions: On the Show NOS Installation
Instructions screen, select Save to Disk to copy the

to disk. Then print them out from the
disk. Read the instructions ^rst, and then follow them to manually
install the NOS.
• Install NOS:
0 Automated NOS Installation: For certain versions ofNovell
NetWare / IntranetWare or Microsoft Windows NT Server,
Con^guration Assistant partitions and formats the hard drive, and
Installation Assistant guides you through the NOS installation and
con^gures the NOS with the appropriate drivers for the HP-bundled
con^guration.
0 Manual NOS Installation: Follow the instructions on the screen and
the
Network Operating System Installation Instructions
that you printed
out.
Custom Configuration
In Custom con^guration mode, you perform the same con^guration steps as for
Express con^guration mode, but you can do them in any order. Select Custom
on the Con^guration Assistant menu if you are experienced in HP NetServer
con^guration and have a preferred sequence of steps, or if you prefer to
con^gure your system one component at a time.
After you have selected the NOS, version, and NOS installation mode
(automated or manual), and after you have viewed the Con^guration Advisories,
the Custom Con^guration screen displays the following menu:
• Essential Steps:
0 Configure Remote Management: This utility con^gures the
Integrated Remote Assistant device for improved remote management.
It enables remote, dial-up server management. To con^gure Integrated
