Uneven seed
depth
Excessive field speed - openers are bouncing
and need more time to penetrate soil
Slow down.
Planting conditions too wet
Wait until drier weather.

Fan speed too high
Check fan speed against recommendations on
page 73.
Dividers missing or damaged in towers
Check and replace as needed,
Unclean seed
Use clean seed.
Damaged, old or dry seed
Use clean, new seed.
Fan will not
run fast
enough
Fan rotating in reverse
Check fan rotation. At fan exit, blades should be
moving toward air box. If not, reverse direction
of tractor circuit.
Fan check valve inverted
See Parts manual for valve location and part
number. Check installation.
Tractor oil level low.
Refill hydraulic fluid.
Tractor pump insufficient.
Tractor must be able to supply 18 gpm at
2000 psi (68 liters/min at 13 790 kPa)
Acremeter not
accurate
Incorrect tire pressure
Check tire size and air pressure, page 107.
Incorrect ground drive sprockets
Re-check against page 114.
Soil conditions
Loose soil can cause a variation in acres
registered.
Electric clutch malfunction
If seed monitor is reporting shaft stoppages,
check implement lift switch, switch harness to
clutch, connectors and clutch operation.
Overlaps or gaps in seeding passes
Check pass alignment and adjust markers.
