R3040S Fans
Each R3040S has two CPU fans:
•
CPU fan 0, used with CPU 0. The power cable of fan 0 exits from the right side of
the fan (a label is on the front of the fan).
•
CPU fan 1, used with CPU 1. The power cable of fan 1 exits from the left side of
the fan (a label is on the front of the fan).
Fans are seated in brackets to ensure correct airflow through the blade.

R3040S CPU fans are wrapped in an anti-vibration foam strip.
The following figure shows the position of the fans when inserted in the blade (note
that mounting holes in the fan bracket are offset to ensure proper positioning).
NOTE
Do not insert screws in fan bracket. No screws are required.
NOTE
To ensure that airflow is correct, fan 0 and fan 1 must be in the
correct slots, as shown in the following figure.
