Prior to switching on the mains voltage, check the wiring for completeness,
short−circuit and earth fault.
Automatic address assignment and automatic detection of the baud rate
The device is equipped with the following functions:
ƒ Automatic address assignment
ƒ Automatic detection of the baud rate
Both functions are used to prevent malfunctions in operation due to incorrectly set user
addresses and baud rate.

In default setting these functions are not activated.

Configuring the country−specific code
Before the 2181 communication module is connected to the telephone network, it may be
required to configure the country−specific code.
