System Alerts and Alarms
While operating the instrument, system alerts can occur. To accurately identify the source of the
alarm, each type of alarm has been given a unique status.
In addition to the status, the DataFID also has an audio alarm and an alarm LED. A soft key is
used for acknowledging alarms and is named “Accept”. To clear the alarm, press the “Accept”
key. Once acknowledged, the alarm indicators are cleared. The alarm status will remain until the
alarm condition clears.
The DataFID updates the instantaneous concentration once every second. Following every
update, the instantaneous concentration is compared to the selected compounds high alarm
level, and if exceeded, an alarm is triggered.
During calibration, all alarms are disabled. Once the calibration is complete, the alarms are re-
enabled.
