5.4.1 Selecting the cooling liquid
1. As cooling liquid you must only use water with an anti-freeze agent.
2. Please refer to the technical data for the appropriate filling capacity of the
circulating chiller. We accept no liability for damage caused by using an
inappropriate cooling liquid and/or by freezing.
The temperature control liquid must not be of a type which could cause corro-
sion on the circulating chiller and on the parts which are used in the connected
system and which come into contact with any other mediums.
Please note that the viscosity of the temperature control liquid must be below
50 mm²/s. The density of the temperature control liquid must not exceed the
value of 1kg/dm³.
Distilled water or fully desalted pure water may only be used after adding 0.1 g
soda (sodium carbonate) per litre of water, as corrosion may be caused other-
wise.
Always add an anti-freeze agent (ethylene glycol). Please ensure that the wa-
ter ethylene glycol mixture is always set to approximately 10 K below the work-
ing temperature of 7°C.
