Oil Seal

1. First, review preceding section “Before You Begin...,” beginning
on page 6-1.
2. Drain oil into an appropriate container from the gearbox or ped-
estal. See Figure 6-1: “Recommended Lubricants” on page 6-2,
for oil capacities. Also see Section 4: “Preventive Maintenance,”
headings:

3. Remove the pump head as described in the previous heading
“Pump Head,” beginning on page 6-17.
4. Remove the six screws (A) and hardware securing the housing
cap assembly to the gear housing. Lift the cap from the gearbox
housing. See Figure 6-15: “Oil Seal Breakdown, “X” Series.”
5. Remove the six screws (B)and hardware securing the seal
housing assembly to the gear housing. Slide the assembly from
the gearbox housing.
