Maintenance and Repair
Installation Notes
See Figure 6-12: “Pedestal Bearing Housing” on page 6-24.
To install, follow the preceding step in the reverse order, paying
attention to the following:
❑ Review preceding section “Before You Begin...,” beginning on
page 6-1.
❑ Pay attention to section “Cleaning and Inspection Guidelines,”
beginning on page 6-6 to ensure a thorough installation.
❑ The matched angular contact bearing pair must be assembled
with the large faces of the inner race furthest apart.
❑ The bearings must be pressed against the clamping face of the
shaft.
❑ The rear components may be assembled by hand with the
exception of the rear bearing inner race, which must be pressed
on.
❑ Insert the shaft assembly into the bearing housing and secure
into position using the front oil seal housing and O-ring, as
described in heading “Front Oil Seal,” beginning on page 6-18.
❑ Compete the shaft assembly per the following sections:

Front oil seal, installation notes, on page 6-20
●
Rear oil seal, installation notes, on page 6-22
●
Pump head, Installation notes, on page 6-18
HG SERIES GEARBOX
See Figure 6-14: “HG Series Gearbox Breakdown” on page 6-29.
Review section “Pump and Gearbox Assembly,” beginning on page 6-7
to remove the assembly from the apparatus.
Also review the following sections and dismantle other equipment from
the HG Gearbox:

❑ Pedestal Mount, beginning on page 6-18
