The CD-ROM drive is shown above. The DVD-ROM drive has similar
controls, but they are in different locations.
The optional CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive lets you run either 4.72-inch or
3.15-inch compact discs without using an adaptor.
Eject hole
To open the drive tray when the computer is off,
insert a slender object, such as a straightened
paper clip, into the eject hole.
Never insert a mechanical pencil lead, plastic stick, or other object that
is easy to break into the eject hole. To open the drive tray using the eject
hole, switch off the computer first.

Handling a compact disc
Y Hold the disc by the centre and outer edges, taking care not to touch
the surface.
Y Place the disc on the drive tray with the disc label up.
Y When not using a disc, keep it in its case.
Y Avoid exposing discs to high temperatures.
Y Never bend discs or place a heavy object on them.
Y If a disc is dusty, clean it carefully with a soft dry cloth.
