5.2 Making 1-sided or 2-sided copy
The Simplex/Duplex function is available in the following four settings: 1-sided to 1-sided setting, 1-sided to
2-sided setting, 2-sided to 1-sided setting, or 2-sided to 2-sided setting.
The 2-sided copy function is only available when the optional Automatic Duplex Unit AD-509 is installed.

Load the original.

Press Simplex/Duplex.
A screen for specifying the 2-sided/1-sided copy appears.

Use +, to select [1-SIDE → 1-SIDE], [1-SIDE → 2-SIDE], [2-SIDE → 1-SIDE], or [2-SIDE → 2-SIDE],
then press OK.
The following icons are displayed in the basic screen.
% : [1-SIDE → 1-SIDE]
% : [1-SIDE → 2-SIDE]
% : [2-SIDE → 1-SIDE]
% : [2-SIDE → 2-SIDE]
% When you select [1-SIDE → 2-SIDE] and press ), you can specify the binding position for the print-
ed sheets. Select [LEFT], [RIGHT], or [TOP], then press OK.
% When you select [2-SIDE → 1-SIDE] and press ), you can specify the binding position for the orig-
inal. Select [LEFT], [RIGHT], or [TOP], then press OK.
% When you select [2-SIDE → 2-SIDE] and press ), you can specify the binding position for the orig-
inal. When you press ) next, you can specify the binding position for the printed sheets. Press OK.
Name Functions
[1-SIDE → 1-SIDE] Prints a 1-sided original on one side of paper.
[1-SIDE → 2-SIDE] Prints a 1-sided original on two sides of paper.
[2-SIDE → 1-SIDE] Prints a 2-sided original on one side of paper.
[2-SIDE → 2-SIDE] Prints a 2-sided original on two sides of paper.
