4. Install any third-party backup software that you had running on the SMA you
are replacing.
5. After you complete steps 1 through 3, restore the SMA using data that was
previously backed up. For complete instructions on using the SMA backup
and restore features, see the Storage Management Appliance online help. If
you are using a third-party backup and restore application, refer to the
product’s documentation for more information.
6. Install Storage Management Appliance software v2.1 using the update CD.
Refer to the HP OpenView Storage Management Appliance Software Update
v2.1 Installation Card for complete instructions.
7. Back up the new software configuration using the SMA backup feature or a
third-party backup product.
When complete, this procedure provides the required backup of the SMA with
software version 2.1. To migrate to a new SMA, you can now proceed with the
steps in “
Migrating to a New Storage Management Appliance ” on page 98.
