Because you need to create volumes with the same capacity when you define volumes, you can incur
initial installation and costs and expenses that are not needed at the time. In the first example, without XP
Thin Provisioning, the used volume capacity will exceed 80% within a year, requiring you to restructure
the system when you add capacity.
XP Thin Provisioning decreases the cost to obtain the same volume capacity. Because you can purchase
additional capacity only when needed, you can more effectively use the volumes that you create. You
will also not incur the cost and downtime involved in restructuring the system because capacity can be
added without taking the system offline.
