2. In the summary section of the Local Replication page, view license information. (Optional) If
the information in the window is not up to date, click the Refresh View icon to refresh the
information in the window.
3. In the BC Pairs tab, complete the following:
1. Locate the pair for which you want to review the status.
2. In the Status column, review the pair status.
The RWC and RAID Manager pair status names are shown in the RWC Status columns
in the format of status in the RWC/status in RAID Manager, except when the names are
the same. If they are the same, only the status in the RWC is shown.

4. (Optional) Click More Actions > View Pair Properties to view more details for a selected pair.

The RWC pair status names and descriptions
The following table shows a list of the RWC pair status names and descriptions, including the level
of S-VOL access.
S-VOL access Description RWC status
Read/write disabled The pair is in the process of being deleted. SMPL(PD)
Read only The Paircreate initial copy is in progress.* The XP7 storage system accepts
read/write to the P-VOL but does not accept write operations to the S-VOL. COPY(PD)/COPY
Read only The initial copy operation has completed and the volumes are paired. The XP7
storage system performs update copy operations. PAIR
Data consistency is not ensured for BC pairs in this status.

Read only The pair is in the process of being Steady Split. The XP7 storage system: COPY(SP)/COPY
1. Copies the differential data to the S-VOL. The data in the S-VOL is identical
to data in the P-VOL.
2. Splits the pair.
For more information about the Steady Split method of splitting pairs, see “Pair
splitting methods” (page 46) .
Read/write enabled.
The S-VOL can be
mounted. The pair is in the process of being Quick Split. The differential data is copied to
the S-VOL in the background. You cannot delete pairs in this status.
