Workflow for setting the RAID level
Use the following process to resume to the original RAID levels:
1. Split the pair.
For more information about how to split pairs, see “Splitting BC pairs” (page 48) .
2. Restore the pair using Quick Restore.
For more information about how to restore pairs using Quick Restore, see “Resynchronizing
or restoring BC pairs” (page 55) .
BC pair deletion
Delete the BC pairs that you no longer need. Deleting a pair unpairs the P-VOL and S-VOL but
does not delete their data. You can use the volumes of deleted pairs in another pair.

Prerequisites for deleting BC pairs
The pair must be unpaired and not in the process of being deleted and the volumes are not in the
process of being unpaired (“SMPL(PD)” status).
Workflow for deleting BC pairs
Use the following workflow to delete an BC pair:
1. Ensure that all of the write I/O operations to the P-VOL have completed and that all secondary
host applications that access the P-VOL have stopped.
2. Set the P-VOL offline.
3. If you are using RAID Manager to run commands, verify that the BC pair is unpaired and not
in the process of being unpaired (“SMPL(PD)” status). Complete the following:
a.
Verify that the volume is unpaired. If you are using RAID Manager to run commands, run
the following RAID Manager command:
pairdisplay
b. Verify that BC/SS is not using a P-VOL or S-VOL that is in the process of being unpaired
(“SMPL(PD)” status). To do this, run the following command:
Inqraid
4. Split the BC pair.

5. Delete the BC pair.
