Loading and Unloading Tape Cartridges
Suppose you want to unload the tape cartridge that is in DLT1 to any available slot.
Scroll two lines back to DLT1. The display shown in
Figure 3-25 appears.
Press Enter to select DLT1. In Figure 3-26 , two changes occur in the display:
•
The * reappears at the beginning of line 2, indicating that a selection has
been made.
•
The $ now moves to line 4, indicating that a destination has been selected.
Press Enter to select slot 2 as the destination. There is an ! at the end of line
4. Additional choices are available because 1) a tape drive has been selected as
the source, so the destination must be a slot, and 2) all of the slots except slot 1
are empty, so a list of remaining empty slots appears below slot 2. To select slot
4, scroll down until slot 4 appears on line 4. Press Enter to select slot 4. In
response, the confirmation screen in
Figure 3-27 appears.
As the confirmation screen indicates, to execute the load or unload, press Enter.
If the confirmation screen does not show the intended source and destination,
press Escape to return to the To entry screen.
